At Preferred Choice Restoration, our reconstruction and remodeling team works with homes and businesses across the Phoenix metro area after water, fire, and mold damage. Remediation often means cutting out drywall, pulling up flooring, and taking out cabinets. Once that work is done, we repair damaged framing, install new materials, and finish with paint, bringing your property back to its pre-loss condition.
During a rebuild, we focus on finishing your rooms properly and keeping you informed along the way.

From Damage Assessment to Complete Reconstruction
01
We walk through your property with you, measure what needs to be rebuilt or remodeled, and provide a written estimate before any work begins.
02
Our construction team repairs or replaces damaged framing and restores the walls and ceilings, so the structure is sound before finish work begins.
03
We install the cabinets, flooring, trim, and other finishes your project calls for, following the scope in your estimate.
04
If insurance is involved, we keep your adjuster updated throughout the project. Once painting and final details are done, we walk through each room with you to make sure the work is complete.
Why Preferred Choice Restoration
We can usually come out the day you call, so you can start planning the rebuild right away instead of waiting on a contractor’s schedule.
We hold an Arizona KB-1 dual building contractor license, which covers both residential and commercial projects, so our team can rebuild a home, office, or storefront. You can verify our license through the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.
Our team brings more than 124 years of combined experience, so they know how to rebuild cleanly around the framing and fixtures left in place after remediation.
With more than 19,000 Phoenix-area customers served since 2013, there’s a good chance someone you know has worked with us and can tell you what to expect.

Reconstruction and Remodeling FAQs
You can hire any licensed contractor you choose. The repair contract is between you and your contractor, and a list of companies your insurer suggests is only a recommendation. Once you’ve decided, let your adjuster know who will be doing the repairs.
Usually both. Your adjuster inspects the damage and writes an itemized list of the materials and labor the repair calls for, often called the scope of loss. Your contractor writes a repair estimate for the same work. When we’re doing the repairs, we send our estimate to your adjuster.
We add it to the repair plan. Damage hidden inside walls and under flooring is common, and your insurance company usually reviews it before approving the added work, sometimes with a second visit from the adjuster.
Yes. You can pick a different flooring, paint color, or cabinet style for the rooms we’re repairing. The insurance repair is based on what the damage ruined, so we write up any upgrades separately and do them as part of the same rebuild.
Cleanup stops the damage and gets the building clean and dry, and reconstruction repairs the building afterward. Cleanup is restoration work, like extracting water, removing soot, or containing mold. Reconstruction is construction work, and it’s the part of the job our construction team takes on.
Many don’t. Like-for-like work, such as painting or laying new flooring, usually doesn’t need a permit. Structural changes and new wiring, plumbing, or gas work often do, and the rules differ from city to city.
